A heated disagreement between two former best mates over four-wheel drive equipment spiralled into violence, a court heard.
Nicholas Jake Downie, 24, pleaded guilty in Gladstone Magistrates Court on Monday to common assault.
Police prosecutor Kelvin Boyd read the facts of Downie’s case to the court and Acting Magistrate Damian Carroll.
On the night of August 14 last year, a group of friends and associates arrived at a 4WD event at Landcruiser Park near Kilcoy, Queensland.
The victim, 32, who was previously good friends with Downie, had recently purchased a specific piece of 4WD equipment from the ex-partner of Downie.

COLUMBUS, Ohio The Columbus Division of Police has filed felony arrest warrants for a man they say should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police say Robert Kendrick Jr., 42, has been charged in connection to a home invasion robbery that occurred in the 1300 block of East 18th Avenue on Jan. 20.
Police say Kendrick entered the residence, brandished a handgun and demanded valuables.
He pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine. Dean Gill, 31, of Argyle Drive, Yate was jailed for three years last month. He pleaded guilty to charges of damaging property, disclosing private sexual photographs, theft and causing grievous bodily harm. Gill posted a video of his semi-naked ex on Facebook, and once punched her so hard that he broke her eye socket. Ashley Hunt, 31, of Kingrove Crescent, Chipping Sodbury, was sentenced to eight years and two months in prison earlier this year. He was part of a drugs network supplying cocaine to people in Swindon and admitted conspiracy to supply class A drugs and possession of criminal property.
