Shooting in east Lafayette leaves 43-year-old dead, one injured One person was killed and another injured after a shooting on East Simcoe Street. Lafayette police officers were called at about 6:45 p.m. Wednesday to shots fired in the 1800 block of East Simcoe Street. When they arrived, officers found a man, later identified as 43-year-old Robert Hebert, who had been shot, according to a release from department spokesperson Sr. Cpl. Bridgette Dugas. Hebert was taken to a local hospital where he later died. Officers were told about a second person, likely a bystander, who also was shot. That person was taken to a local hospital by someone before officers arrived. The victim suffered a non-life-threatening injury and was later released from the hospital, Dugas said. ....
43-year-old Robert Hebert of Lafayette is dead following a shooting Wednesday afternoon in a neighborhood in the 1800 block of E. Simcoe Street. According to a press release from Lafayette Police, officers responded to the scene around 6:40 PM to find Hebert suffering from a gunshot wound.
