ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA North Hills School District students and staff will still have to wear masks for the rest of the school year, despite the Pennsylvania Department of Health s announcement that masks no longer need to be worn by those who are fully vaccinated.
In a news release, the district said the continued use of masks are necessary to protect the health and safety of all non-vaccinated individuals. The masking mandate remains in effect for all visitors at future events this school year as well.

Hempfield Area School District students may receive their first dose of the covid-19 vaccine during a clinic Tuesday at the high school field house. Other clinics are planned this month for students across the region.
Shots of the Pfizer vaccine will be administered from 3 to 7 p.m. in Hempfield through cooperation with Rite Aid. The clinic is open to anyone 16 and older, including adults living in the community.
“While vaccinations are now more readily available, we are supporting this opportunity on school property as it makes it more convenient for any eligible (16 and older) and interested students,” Superintendent Tammy Wolicki said.
