SIALKOT: A man gunned down his employee over issue of leave near village Bhadey Chak in the limits of Begowala police station. According to police, on late Saturday night, 26-year-old Yasir, son of Nazir, was shot dead by his employer Nabeel at a farmhouse. It is stated that the victim, a resident of Nankana Sahib, who had been working at the accused s farmhouse for some time, wanted to go on leave but his employer refused to grant him leave. In a resultant clash, Nabeel allegedly murdered Yasir and fled. Police have registered a murder case against the accused and started investigations. ....

Country’s entrepreneurs are subjected to a ‘hostile’ taxation system which is detrimental to boosting local and foreign investments, Managing Director of Apex Footwear Ltd Syed Nasim Manzur has said.
Investors are facing stepmother-like behaviour from the authorities concerned, he said, adding that although an industrialist suffers losses, he/she will not be exempted from the tax under the current system.
 Nasim Manzur made the remarks while speaking at a webinar organised by Economic Reporters’ Forum (ERF) as a panelist on Saturday. ....

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to introduce pregnancy provisions in its central contracts system.
Pakistan women’s cricket team captain Bismah Maroof has announced that she would be taking an indefinite break from cricket on account of her pregnancy.
The 29-year-old took to Twitter and announced that she is now entering a new chapter of life as she will be welcoming her first child. “I am delighted to announce that I am entering a new chapter in my life as motherhood beckons,” she wrote.
The PCB’s central contracts for its women cricketers don’t have any specific clauses covering maternity leave, but the board is now likely to amend the contracts to offer support to female cricketers. ....
