Kimberly Sizelove has been named Regional Director of
Vermont Adult Learning’s Windham County office. She joined Vermont Adult Learning in 2021, entering the organization in her role as Regional Director. “VAL’s mission resonates with me,” Sizelove said. “I felt motivated to dedicate my time and use my skills to contribute to the success of Vermonters.”
Canada was obliged to arrest Meng Wanzhou at Vancouver’s airport more than two years ago, but her detention had now been revealed as unlawful, the Huawei Technologies executive’s lawyer told her extradition hearing in Vancouver on Wednesday.
Lawyer Gib van Ert said Meng’s detention on a US fraud warrant was not arbitrary, a position in contrast to repeated assertions otherwise by China’s government.
“Canada had to detain Ms Meng, having received what was, on its face, a bona fide extradition request. We were bound by our treaty obligations to take seriously the US claims, to take the steps needed to detain Ms Meng pending the determination of her extradition,” he said.

Wohl returns to DRM after having served for four years as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for the Brattleboro Retreat, Vermont’s only private independent psychiatric hospital, and a regional resource for mental health and addiction services.
In her role at the Retreat, Wohl served as a senior member of the executive leadership team, advised the Board of Trustees, supervised and directed several outside law firms, led labor negotiations with the hospital’s union and provided support to other lead negotiators, and advised providers across the facility in a wide range of health law matters.
New brewery Bull N Bear opens in Summit
Bull N Bear is a new brewery on Springfield Avenue in Summit’s bustling downtown.
Owner William Dodge worked in finance before he decided to turn his home brewing hobby into a business. The name Bull N Bear comes from “bull and bear markets” a bull market is one that is on the rise, a bear market is one that s dipping.
Dodge and head brewer Mike Formisano planned to open in the spring of 2020. Then COVID-19 hit and the opening was delayed. The brewery was finally able to open Dec. 4, launching four beers: a Scotch Ale, a Belgian Dubbel, an English Brown and an IPA.
