As farmers’ protest in India made international headlines after many celebrities, including an American singer showed solidarity with the campaign, Pakistan on Thursday voiced concerns over “increasing intolerance and rapidly shrinking space for any dissent” in the neighbouring country.
“The treatment of minorities, increasing intolerance, and rapidly shrinking space for any dissent in India is a matter of serious concern not only for the Indian minorities and the neighbouring countries but also for the international community,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson here at the weekly news briefing. ....

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office said on Thursday the recent developments regarding WhatsApp chats leaks had further exposed India’s sinister designs against Pakistan and vindicated the latter’s long-held position.
Addressing a weekly briefing, Foreign Office Spokesman Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said the latest revelations confirmed what Pakistan had consistently pointed out that the BJP government staged “false flag” operations, maligned Pakistan with terrorism-related allegations, stoked hyper-nationalism in the country and also deviously manipulated national sentiment in its bid to win elections.

Pakistan on Saturday categorically rejected what it termed the malicious statement by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) which accused Islamabad for holding farcical trials of UN-designated individuals to avoid blacklisting by FATF.
The reaction came after India questioned the timing of conviction a Lahore Anti-Terrorism that sentenced Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, leader of proscribed organisation Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), to five years imprisonment and a fine of Rs300,000 in a terrorism financing case.
India has no locus standi to comment on the independent judicial mechanisms of Pakistan. In this regard the only ‘compliance’ that interests Pakistan is abiding by its own statutes and fulfilment of its international obligations, a statement issued by the Foreign Office said. ....
