The Silver Dollar Showroom doesnât host the kind of large crowds the Powell Brothers have played for over the past few years. Instead it has the sense of intimacy Taylor and Blake Powell sometimes miss when looking out over a stadium-size crowd.
When theyâre playing a big venue the brothers can usually see only the first few rows of the audience. Stage lights obscure the sea of people filling the rest of the space.
âThere is the beauty of the diversity of shows that we play,â Taylor Powell said. âThe differences we play make the other shows more exciting. Playing big rooms makes playing small, intimate spaces more exciting because we get to have personal connections. . in a different way that you can when youâre playing in a stadium.â

Station 54 â Justin Smith, Shane Wolf, John Gallagher and Steve Place â make their debut June 9 at Melvin Brewing, with dates at the Wort Hotelâs Silver Dollar Showroom and the Knotty Pine in Victor, Idaho, in the weeks to come.
