A city s image is highly dependent on its skyscrapers, and the trio of towers in the Lujiazui area reflect Shanghai s uniqueness and character, said Marshall Strabala, the chief architect of the Shanghai Tower.
Strabala made these remarks in a video that is part of the Shanghai Through Our Eyes series, which was released by the Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People s Government in April to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
In the video, Marshall called the three skyscrapers in Shanghai - Jinmao Tower, Shanghai World Financial Center and Shanghai Tower – special, noting that they represent the city s past, present and future respectively.
