HARTFORD There were no reported injuries from a fire at a vacant home Monday night in the city’s South End neighborhood, according to fire officials.
Fire crews were dispatched to a Franklin Avenue address for a reported house fire around 6:30 p.m.
Arriving units found a vacant building with flames showing near the roof. Officials said firefighters had the blaze knocked down shortly after 7 p.m. ....

At Tigín Irish Pub in Stamford, the busiest two weeks of the year normally fall between the city’s St. Patrick’s Day parade and March 17. Crowds of green-clad revelers descend upon the pub to enjoy drinks and Irish fare, with live music, dancing and drinking extending to an outdoor tent.
But almost exactly one year into the COVID-19 pandemic, Tigín isn’t planning an all-day party or hiring a band. Because of the state’s continued restaurant restrictions and safety protocols, and the pub’s own strict adherence to safety, the holiday will be just another day of business in 2021. ....

Glen Carbon man faces aggravated DUI charge

Andrew J. Bridges, 32, was charged with aggravated driving while under the influence, a Class 2 felony.
The case was presented by the Glen Carbon Police Department.
According to court documents, on March 13 Bridges allegedly was driving a 2013 Volkswagon Passat while under the influence of alcohol. It was noted that he had a conviction or court supervision for related crimes in 2007 and 2012.
Bail was set at $25,000.
Other felony charges filed March 15 by the Madison County State’s Attorney’s Office include:
• Billy J. Clark, 40, of Hartford, was charged with offenses relating to motor vehicles and unlawful possession of an altered license plate, both Class 2 felonies, and forgery, a Class 3 felony. The case was presented by the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. According to court documents, on March 13 Clark allegedly was found to b ....
