Henderson restaurant opens under new ownership Henderson restaurant opens under new ownership By Joseph Payton | January 25, 2021 at 10:28 PM CST - Updated January 25 at 10:29 PM HENDERSON, Ky (WFIE) - A Henderson restaurant is back open under new ownership. The Eastgate Family Restaurant closed for two weeks in early January during the transition. They revamped the inside, and now, new restaurant owners Willie and Sarah Hopper say they are excited to welcome customers back. Manager Hayley Lindsey says they have been extra busy. She hopes the community will keep that support going through 2021. ”We are so excited. We are able to do the 50% capacity, and it’s so great to see all the customers that are finally getting to come in because we’ve got our tables six feet apart,” said Lindsey. “And everybody is feeling comfortable so I’m super excited about it.” ....

Officials cut ribbon on completed I-10 widening project between Henderson and the Basin Bridge and last updated 2021-01-19 20:03:16-05 A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Tuesday at 9:00 am to celebrate the completion of the I-10 widening project between Henderson and the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. DOTD says the $54.7 million project involved pavement replacement within the existing lanes in each direction for 2.7 miles along I-10 from La. 347 to the base of the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge. An additional lane was also added in the westbound direction. The ceremony was held at La Rumba located on Grand Pointe Hwy. in Henderson. DOTD Secretary Dr. Shawn Wilson and other local and elected officials were on hand to speak about the project s completion. ....
Artists receive more than $1 million in relief grants Six East Multnomah County artists awarded financial support to help with pandemic recovery Oregon artists across the state are getting relief grants to help offset the loss in finances this past year during the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, 646 artists received a portion of $1.25 million through an Artist Relief Program created by the Oregon Arts Commission in partnership with Oregon Community Foundation and the James F. and Marion L. Miller Foundation. Artists are the creative core of our communities and help define who we are they inspire us to innovate, to learn and grow, said Brian Rogers, executive director of the Oregon Arts Commission. (WFIE) - Police say a traffic stop on Sunday led to two people receiving multiple charges. According to the Henderson Police Department, officers located a car matching the description of a vehicle that was previously reported stolen in Vanderburgh County, Indiana. Police say the officers pulled over the driver, idenitified as Cory Clark, on the 2500 block of U.S. Route 41 North. When police searched the vehicle, officers say they found multiple needles, suspected drugs (synthetic marijuana and methamphetamine) and a handgun. ....
