i mean, is this the only choice for the country, to have these two candidates, you know, in a rematch that we haven't had since, what, 1892, i think, or 1888. i guess 1892. so i think that's the kind of discussion that it would bring. i don't think there is a lot of give in a trump-biden rematch. i think it is more of a question of who comes out to vote. >> all right. always great to hear your analysis. we appreciate your time tonight. you are in the "cnn newsroom" on this saturday. she was the daughter of the king, rock 'n' roll royalty. remembering lisa marie presley up next. you could earn your master's degree in less than a year for under $11k. learn more at phoenix.edu. ♪ ♪ a bunch of dead guys made up work, way back when. ♪ ♪ it's our turn now we'll make it up again. ♪

>> yeah, we've only had -- of course, all viewers remember, grover cleveland, who was elected in 1884, defeated in 1888, and then won a rematch in 1892. one key difference, as someone pointed out on twitter, is that cleveland twice won the popular vote, even when he lost. and of course, was not facing the prospect of multiple indictments on both federal and state charges in georgia. you know, i thought it was an odd speech. it did not have trump's characteristic energy. it seemed almost perfunctory at points. it was rambling. , you know it aired his familiar grievances. i am a victim, he said at one point. but you also see the germ of what will be the campaign for him or any other republican who runs, which is the argument that the country was in better shape in any -- today. that biden has mishandled inflation, crime, and the border. and we need to go back to the

you hear this sometimes. it's not possible we lost an election. anybody can lose an election. it's quite possible. you go through it, since 1888, this that and the other. i won this state and the other state, and he uses that as evidence about how it's not possible to have lost. no, it is quite possible. we had a massive turnout. and he did get more votes than he got in the previous election, but so did the democrats. so did in this case joe biden, and what i find intriguing about it is like, they accept that he got more votes, so that more people turned out for him, but they don't accept that a single other person might have turned out for the other party. >> i guess there was a nonresponse in terms of whether he will appear before this committee. i think we have it here in these 14 pages. if we can move on and talk about more of what we saw yesterday and new revelations that came out of secret service emails and messages that the committee had obtained, can it showed sort of this build-up to the anticipation of violence
