Maricela Avila (right) of Eagles Flight along with her spouse, Monica, put blankets in bags to be distributed to the elderly on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021. The group is among the nonprofits providing items to those in need during the winter storm. On Wednesday, the Avilas were busily packing boxes and care packages with food, personal hygiene and other assorted items for people in need during the weather crisis. Avila and others then took the packages to the families in need. In total about 180 care packages were distributed by Eagles Flight on Wednesday to the elderly and families needing supplies as power outages continue to ravage the area. The non-profit services about 300 families per week.Kin Man Hui, San Antonio Express-News / Staff photographerShow MoreShow Less
