What more specific information do we have? >> well, we know that we know this is a deal in principle. everything needs to be written down on paper and agreed to by all sides before it's agreed know is that the four top appropriators that met this afternoon, met this evening to come to a deal, came to some numbers they think everybody can agree to and that the white house can agree to as well. that includes 1.3 -- $1.375 billion for a border barrier. now, that would include new fencing, like steel slats and other existing technology but it will not include anything -- it is going to specificall...

Low-crime city, we were a low-crime city before the barrier and about the same since we had the barrier. the entire thrust of him being there is based on something that's not true. the president wanted $5.7 billion for the wall. in this new bill he gets $1.375 billion, which is about $200 million less than he would have gotten if he had just taken the deal in december. now he's at this point, can he sign a bill that gets $200 million less he could have gotten in december and about $4 billion less than he wanted. this all could have been done over the two years when the president and republican...

$1.375 billion for 55 miles of new border fencing. although not a concrete wall. this is twice as many miles adds funded in 2018, but it's not what the president asked for. it would pay for more than 40,000 ice detention beds. here's the big question. is the president down with this? nobody is really sure. >> just now, just now i said wait a minute. i got to take care of my people from texas. i got to go. i don't even want to hear about it. i don't want to hear about it. but i had a choice. i could have stayed out there and listened or could have come out to the people of el paso and texas. i ...

Officially publicly released. so as we try to explain to our colleagues, the republicans on their side, democrats on our side, what's in this bill, it's a good bill, it's not perfect, it's a bipartisan bill, and we have to govern. for those who are even thinking of a shutdown, as we've heard some grumbling around there, let's remember the 800,000 workers who are just getting back to work who haven't been able to take care of their family, who haven't been able to pay the rent. this is serious stuff. and we have to stop politicking every minute of the day and start governing. that's what this b...
