How the Senior Bowl adapted to the pandemic to become more critical than ever

MOBILE, Ala. -- This was the Senior Bowl “Unplugged” -- a stripped-down version of the annual college all-star game that packs much of the NFL universe into Mobile, Alabama, for a few days in January.
Typically the Senior Bowl is part convention, part job fair, part mixer for team personnel, agents and media as much as it is an invaluable opportunity to evaluate some of the nation’s top draft prospects.
Last week, however, the restaurants and bars and hotel lobbies were practically barren as teams focused on the one return to normalcy they relished most: a chance to see these players up close and personal, both on the field and in interview sessions.

Broncos' secondary needs serious help before 2021 NFL season

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. -- While Drew Lock's future at quarterback and Von Miller's future at linebacker are already discussion in full swirl early in this Denver Broncos' offseason, a very real down-to-down football problem is staring the team in the face as well.
The Broncos are wafer-thin at cornerback and face the possibility of remaking an entire secondary if some big checks don't get written.
"Those are things [general manager] George [Paton] will have to look at," said Broncos president of football operations John Elway.
Cornerback A.J. Bouye, who missed the final four games of this season and will miss the first two games of 2021 due to a violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs, faces an uncertain future and could potentially be released. Cornerback Bryce Callahan, who was playing some of the best football in his career before he injured his foot this season, has now missed 22 games over the past two seasons with injuries.

Adjusting to Brandon Staley not new for Chargers' Justin Herbert - Los Angeles Chargers Blog- ESPN

COSTA MESA, Calif. -- It's not as if Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert hasn't been through this before -- new head coach, likely new offensive coordinator (or not) and likely new offensive system (or not).
He had three different head coaches (Mark Helfrich, Willie Taggart and Mario Cristobal) at Oregon before adjusting to a new staff as a rookie in the NFL last year. Herbert did all right, finishing his junior season in 2018 with 3,151 passing yards, then rushing for three touchdowns in winning the Rose Bowl to cap off a senior year in which he threw for 3,471 yards.
He then was the No. 6 pick in the 2020 draft, set an NFL rookie record with 31 touchdown passes and is a favorite to be the Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Best fit for Chiefs OC Eric Bieniemy? A look at the five teams with which he's interviewed

He'd rank his latest candidate, offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy, with any of them.
"I have not seen many guys that are as great a leader as he is of men," Reid said this week. "In this business, that's huge. You're never going to have to worry about Eric Bieniemy -- never -- on the field, off the field. He's going to be honest with you and straightforward, and then he knows the offense."
That would be a Chiefs offense that has ranked first in the NFL in two of the past three years.
This week, while the Chiefs enjoyed a first-round playoff bye, Bieniemy interviewed with five of the six teams needing a head coach: the Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets.
