Congratulating law enforcement for their work in responding to this. what we haven t heard as anybody affirmatively say that the person who s dead in that van is the suspect in this case. the police have to go through an identification process to make sure that everything lines up the way they believe that it will hear. but based on a law enforcement seen so far, the indications are pointing to that person likely being the suspect they were looking for. but law enforcement officials now telling our nbc news colleague, andy that person who was in that van, is now dead. it s unclear, is what the motive was. and what more law enforcement has learned about what exactly took place in the hours before the shooting. we expect to hear more about that as well as hopefully official confirmation on who exactly was in that van. when we get an update from l.a. county and from other law enforcement officials about a ....
