17,220 new infections; another 616 recover from Covid-19

(File photo) MANILA - The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday reported another 17,220 fresh coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections. In its latest Covid-19 bulletin, the agency said this raised the active case count to 56,561. Thursday's new infections are equivalent to a nearly 60 percent increase from Wednesday's 10,775 fresh cases. Out of the active cases, 49,988 are mild, 2,954 are moderate, 1,837 are asymptomatic, 312 are critical, and 1,470 are severe. New infections top 10K; another 605 patients beat Covid-19

(PNA photo by Ben Briones) MANILA - The number of fresh coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) infections in the country jumped to 10,775 on Wednesday. In its Covid-19 bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said the new cases brought the active case tally to 39,974 out of a total of 2,871,745 confirmed infections since the start of the pandemic. Wednesday's fresh cases are almost double from Tuesday's 5,434 new cases. The DOH also reported 605 new recoveries, raising the tally to 2,780,109 or 96.8 percent of the total case count.
