Congrats to these San Antonio based artists who were selected to each receive grants as part of the Department of Arts & Culture’s Individual Artists Project Grants Program. Aimed to support a diverse portfolio of artists working across San Antonio, the grants support the production of new, original and high-quality art to be presented in the city over the next year. The grantees range in disciplines including Literary Arts, Media Arts, Multi-Disciplinary, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts.

Thousands convened at Día de los Muertos at Hemisfair, popularly known as Muertos Fest, an event National Geographic has called one of the United States' Seven Best Fall Festivals. The gathering to celebrate departed loved ones included live music, a procession, art, poetry readings, food, shopping and numerous homemade altars.

San Antonio's Dia de los Muertos celebrations kicked off Friday night with the annual River Parade. During the event, 25 artisan-crafted vessels made their way down the river, each representing figures and cultural symbols associated with the holiday.
