For the first time in the series' history, furniture can be placed outside and almost the whole island itself can be shaped into whatever you desire. Resetting the game to be able to make adjustment means that you will lose items, villagers and the progress you've made. Here are ways on how you can redesign your island while keeping your items. Clear The Island You can start by decluttering your island, move all of your buildings to the beach in order to maximize the space that is available for designing and terraforming. Clearing everything will take time, but you can spend time doing research and planning while you move the buildings.
