Raghavendra B Pachhapur, Senior Project Lead with NGO ActionAid Association, said that the water quality of Singasandra Lake has been bad for more than a year.
In 2016-17, the Karnataka government allocated Rs 8.31 crore to restore the lake spread over 45 acres.
According to the claims made by the BBMP, it removed silt from the lake, constructed a wetland and waste weirs, created a sewage diversion system so that untreated sewage does not enter the lake and fenced the boundary of the lake.
