Investigators are casting a wide net in their inquiry, dubbed Operation Kian, interviewing various people in Polkinghorne’s colourful social milieu. On Tuesday, a detective visited the Remuera flat of his barber – a man with whom he had spent time socially with a mutual female friend - asking him to come in for an interview the following day. On Tuesday morning, a detective visited the flat of Polkinghorne’s barber, who Stuff has chosen not to identify. The investigator asked the man to come in for an interview the following day. When Stuff spoke to the man after the detective’s visit on Tuesday, he said he had every intention of co-operating with police, and he did not plan to ask for a lawyer.
