Woman arrested for allegedly starving her child to death


Uganda police on Wednesday arrested Margaret Kawambu, accused of locking her 8-month-old child in the house since January, 4th this year, went to drink and starved her to death.
Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Oweyesigire noted that that Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at about pm, the community of Abaita Ababiri cell Katabi Town Council reported sighting a body of a Juvenile that had been abandoned in a house.
“The police responded and the body which seemed malnourished was picked and conveyed to City Mortuary at Mulago for postmortem.
The deceased was later identified as Princess Nakiwala.
According to information gathered, both her parents are drunkards and have been starving her. The community also alleges the child was locked in the house since January, 4th this year,” Owesigire said. ....
