Iran is ramping up uranium production again, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency
Iran's monthly production of highly enriched uranium has tripled since November, according to the International Atomic Energy Agency. Production had previously been scaled back in mid-2023. For an atomic bomb, enrichment to at least 80 percent is necessary. Iranian politicians have been emphasizing for years that they do not want to build nuclear weapons. The production concerns the production facilities in Natans and Fordow. The IAEA inspectors verified the information during visits on December 19 and 24, the IAEa said.
