ITHACA, N.Y. (WHCU) – Ithaca College administration releases a document detailing plans to “re-shape” the institution.
The Ithacan reports the ‘Shape of the College’ initiative recommends the elimination of 116 full-time faculty, and 26 department, major and program discontinuations all intended to improve academics at the college.
The School of Humanities and Sciences faces the most substantial cuts. 20 other departments would need to collectively eliminate 41 full-time positions.
The announcement falls under Ithaca’s Academic Program Prioritization Process.
