The total death toll in the country is now at 5,25,604. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.
The state's positivity rate, of cases detected per 100 tests, stood at 2 per cent.
An increase of 3,619 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours. The active cases comprise 0.31 per cent of the total infections, the ministry said.
The total number of COVID-19 active cases in the country currently is 1,36,076, which accounted for 0.31 per cent of the total caseload.
