Schools will be able to pick the mental health tools that best match the needs of their students, with the Victorian Government’s Schools Mental

EX-PRIMARY pupils who are gearing up to start high school this month got the chance to sample it during a three-day visit to Inverclyde Academy.

A team from King's Oak Primary are preparing to conquer the West Highland Way in July. The walkers will head out on the five-day expedition, starting on July 26, to raise money for the school and for a local cause. Senior family worker Caroline McCahill says while the journey will be tough her colleagues are ready for the challenge. Caroline hopes it will help to inspire pupils to get active. She said: "We speak to the young people a lot about the importance of exercise, so we have to lead by example and show them that it's not a case of 'do as we say, not as we do'.

Active Schools is flying the flag for health and fitness. SCHOOL pupils, teachers and families are being asked to sign up to help North Ayrshire Active Schools team take on their Fife counterparts in a Euro-style step challenge. The four week challenge sees them take on Fife in a virtual race to capture the Euro flags. And the challenge kicked off on May 17 when the steppers began their journey at Hampden in Glasgow to make their steps count to reach their first Euro flag goal at Wembley for the England flag.
