She was born Feb. 5, 1921, and passed peacefully at home in Ojai just 16 days after her surprise parade.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) appointed Chanell Fletcher, currently ClimatePlan’s Executive Director, to oversee its work on environmental justice and racial equity.
