A new open source Arduino driven wearable biometric sensor has been created by the develop and team at EmotiBit, offering an easy-to-use sensor capturing high-quality emotional, physiological and movement data that is 100% user owned.
Thanks to its open source design and Arduino compatibility data from the biometric sensor can be streamed wirelessly to any platform, enabling artists and makers to unlock new perspectives on biometric signals. The data is 100% user-owned and can be directly recorded to the built-in SD card, empowering anyone to explore their own health and wellness without reservations about where that data might end up. ....

Make an Interactive Sculpture with Twilio Autopilot and Airtable

Make an Interactive Sculpture with Twilio Autopilot and Airtable
In a previous tutorial, I described how to build a text-based messaging game using Twilio Autopilot, Facebook Messenger, and Airtable.
Now, it’s time to bring that data into the real world, with a creative display of all the data from Twilio Autopilot that is being stored in the Airtable database.
In this tutorial you’ll learn how you can make a small internet-connected sculpture that displays how players respond to each question stored in the Autopilot task. You’ll use a wifi-enabled microcontroller to read data from Airtable and to display the data on a small LCD screen that would be embedded in the sculpture. ....

Global distribution agreement offers multi-core SoC platform and dev kits

Mouser has announced a global distribution agreement with QuickLogic Corporation. Through the agreement, the company now supplies the company’s EOS S3 microcontroller and FPGA-based platform and QuickFeather development kit.
The EOS S3 sensor processing platform is a multi-core SoC that facilitates a comprehensive array of concurrent sensor applications, from basic to computationally demanding algorithms for smartphone, wearable, and IoT devices. The platform combines an ultra-low-power Arm Cortex-M4F microcontroller subsystem and eFPGA fabric, with optional Sensory LPSD for on-chip voice recognition. The heterogeneous architecture of the sensor allows designers to partition their software and use cases across the variety of cores to optimise their system for the lowest power consumption. ....
