The Galesburg Area Vocational Center has a number of programs that give students opportunities while feeding local employers that are hungry for workers. Manufacturing is certainly among those areas where employers are looking. Cameron Line talked with Manufacturing teacher Lonny Miller and GAVC Director Adam Seaney on Tuesday about what students can expect in GAVC's manufacturing program. Also, what's the need for manufacturing in the area? Can students really get a good-paying job practically before they're out of high school? You may be surprised.
The Galesburg Area Vocational Center continues to become a crucial lifeline for students as well as the local workforce. Some proof of that can be seen in a 68 percent jump in the program's enrollment this year.
