Walked back. you shouldn t have to grow up as a senior in high school having to have lockdown drills. we can take common sense actions and i m counting on that not only when i m present but i m counting on gun owners and nongun owners alike. let me have you sit down for one minute, to follow up on what aditya said. you only announced your support for universal background checks in 2018, about a year before you announced you were running for president. what do you say to people who say this was just a political stance? i certainly tried to say let s take some common sense steps and vetoed 14 different bills that came through our legisla legislature that certainly i don t think was added to the safety of our communities or law enforcement or others. i think it was quite a gut punch ....

For threats to commit mass shootings across the country. i want to bring in a young man, a high school senior from long island. he will be voting for president for the first time in 2020. what is your question fwor the governor? two years ago, i was eating lunch in the calf tear wra when our high school was placed on lockdown because someone threatened to commit a school shooting. my friends hid underneath desks for half hour as the s.w.a.t. team ran through our school before the lockdown ended. why should we trust you with your past opposition to universal background checks and current opposition to licensing? thank you for the question, aditya. you re not the only one. as the parent of a sixth grade boy when he went to school this year, i said what did you learn your first week? he said i know where to go in ....
