UND rallies for 6-5 win over NDSU at Summit League Softball Tournament

By Chase Miller May 12, 2021 | 9:04 PM FARGO, N.D. – In the longest Summit League Tournament game since 2009, it was the West Fargo native Mariah Peters who came up with the go-ahead RBI fielder’s choice in the top of the 10th to lead No. 6 seed North Dakota past No. 3 seed North Dakota State, 6-5, on Wednesday evening from Tharaldson Park in Fargo, N.D. UND (17-31) trailed by five entering the top of the fifth, but rallied for six straight runs to earn its first win in the Summit League Championships since joining the league in 2018-19 and the second overall postseason win in the program’s Division I era (2008-present).

KVRR Local News The Bison dropped the first game before taking the afternoon affair May 2, 2021 FARGO, ND – The North Dakota State softball team handled North Dakota, 8-0, in the second game of a Sunday doubleheader, capping the Summit League home schedule for the 2021 season. The Bison will play four games at South Dakota State on May 7-8 before the Summit League Tournament returns to Tharaldson Park on the NDSU campus May 12-15. UND won Game 1 of the doubleheader on Sunday, 1-0. Lainey Lyle pitched all seven innings for the Bison and allowed one unearned run in the second inning. North Dakota pitcher Adrianna Dilal shut out the Bison, allowing only four hits in the game.

Softball starts 2021 going 1-3 at Southern Mississippi Tournament

Posted By: Simon Elfrink February 18, 2021 Jakob Milani jmilani@murraystate.edu Softball season is underway as the Murray State softball team kicked their season off in the Southern Mississippi tournament on Feb. 13 and 14. The Racers lost three of their four games in the tournament over the weekend, including two losses to Southern Illinois University and another loss to University of Southern Mississippi. Game One The Racers started the weekend against the Southern Illinois University Salukis, a game  they lost 3-1. Junior right-hander Hannah James got the start on the mound for Murray State and struggled early, walking the first batter and allowing a hit from freshman right fielder Bailey Caylor in  the first inning. However, the Salukis weren’t able to score until the fifth inning when graduate student Maddy Vermejan scored on a fielding error that also allowed for Caylor to reach first. The Salukis scored again the next at-bat when senior first-basemen Jenny Jansen do
