Saturday, January 16, 2021 - 9:00 am AKWESASNE The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC) reports one new case of COVID-19 Friday, which makes 17 total active cases under the Tribe’s jurisdiction. Officials there say six people have recovered, leaving 54 in quarantine. “As vaccinations continue in accordance with the CDC’s recommended guidelines, we ask those who will soon receive the vaccine to please be thoughtful,” a press release from EOC said. “The vaccine’s purpose is to protect our community, particularly our most vulnerable members our elders. It’s not intended to let individuals take vacations or other non-essential trips, nor does it allow you to no longer follow the safety protocols that are still being highly recommended.” ....
