Lack in knowledge on food safety linked to low-levels of nitrite in skinless sausage sold in Davao public market

DAVAO CITY – A group of researchers from the University of the Philippines Mindanao (UP Mindanao) found that some skinless longganisa sold in Bankerohan Public Market here contain residual nitrite levels which are way below the minimum required amount for food safety.

The study also showed that as the level of educational attainment of the vendor-processors in the study increased “the chemical hazard on the use of excessive nitrite may have been emphasized more compared to the consequences of its underapplication.”
“The study results demonstrated that all skinless longganisa samples gathered had residual nitrite levels ranging from 0.005–1.031 mg/kg, which is way below the minimum required amount of 50 mg/kg for the inhibition of Clostridium botulinum,” said Dr. Virginia P. CHARGES await the individuals responsible for molesting two female motorcycle riders who passed by along Barangay Wilfredo Aquino in Agdao, Davao City during the welcoming of the New Year.
On January 1, 2021, a video went viral showing some residents in corner Sarphil Village and Sitio Bulakan in Wilfredo Aquino throwing tin roof, mud, water and even human feces to vehicles and individuals passing by the area.
Another video can be seen showing two female motorcycle riders being barred and their shirts ripped off by the residents. The video also showed the residents touching their private parts. ....

DAVAO CITY – Seven modern electric and fully-air conditioned Business for Environmentally Sustainable Transformation (BEST) Buses have started plying the streets of downtown Davao City, offering free rides to local passengers for six months.

During her live interview over Davao City Disaster Radio (DCDR 87.5), Mayor Sara Duterte said that the e-buses have started servicing local passengers since last Monday after she and Davao Light and Power Company (DLPC) president and chief operating officer Rodger S.
