Costa Mesa man gets 36 years for firing on agents executing warrant
Luis Mendez Jr., who believed himself to be a persecuted descendant of Jesus Christ, fired multiple rounds at officers during an Oct. 5, 2022, standoff that lasted more than eight hours. His sentence was handed down Tuesday.
