"Large rotating magnetocaloric effects in polycrystalline Ni-Mn-Ga melt" by Fenghua Chen, Haibo Xie et al. - Vimarsana News

"Large rotating magnetocaloric effects in polycrystalline Ni-Mn-Ga melt" by Fenghua Chen, Haibo Xie et al.

In this study, the different wheel speeds Ni53Mn23.5Ga23.5 alloy ribbons were prepared by melt-spun method. The morphology and crystal structure, martensitic phase transformation, magnetocrystalline anisotropy, in situ technique magnetization observation and the magnetic refrigeration capacity resulting were tested. The ratio of the length to width for the columnar crystals is approximately 2.5:1.0 in the sample created at a wheel speed of 12 m s−1, and it increases to 5:1 in the sample produced at a wheel speed of 18 m s−1. It is found that a sample with 18 m s−1 ha−1s−1 a large rot...

"Effects of magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure on the antiferromag" by Feng Hua Chen, Hai Bo Xie et al. - Vimarsana News

"Effects of magnetic field and hydrostatic pressure on the antiferromag" by Feng Hua Chen, Hai Bo Xie et al.

In this study, the thermal expansion of Hf1-xTaxFe2 (x = 0.10, 0.13, 0.15) compounds by adjusting the Ta concentration was successfully regulated. The magnetocaloric properties, hydrostatic pressure affecting the antiferromagnetic–ferromagnetic transition, and magnetostriction in the low magnetic field were studied. The ΔSM values of 3.3 J·(kg·K)−1 and 3.6 J·(kg·K)−1 were obtained under magnetic fields of 10 kOe and 15 kOe in the Hf0.85Ta0.15Fe2, respectively. In the antiferromagnetic–ferromagnetic state transformation process under hydrostatic pressure up to 0.8 GPa, the state te...

"Influence of Annealing Temperatures on the Structural Behaviour and El" by Zulkifly Muhammad Ikmal, Makmor Nazrul Fariq et al. - Vimarsana News

"Influence of Annealing Temperatures on the Structural Behaviour and El" by Zulkifly Muhammad Ikmal, Makmor Nazrul Fariq et al.

This paper explains the effect of structural behaviour and electrical properties of cubic NaZn13-type La(FeSi)13 compounds annealed at different high temperatures from 1000ºC to 1200ºC. The Raman spectroscopy measurement revealed a different level of coexistence of La(FeSi)13-type phase and α-Fe in 1000ºC, 1100ºC and 1200ºC annealed samples. The different level coexistence of the phases suggested that the samples show a significant phase change with different annealing temperature. This finding has also supported by impedance analyzer measurement, where the pattern shows that the 1000ºC...

"Structural Behaviour and Electrical Properties of a Ball Milled MnCoGe" by Rahman Abdul Rashid Abdul, Md Din Muhamad Faiz et al. - Vimarsana News

"Structural Behaviour and Electrical Properties of a Ball Milled MnCoGe" by Rahman Abdul Rashid Abdul, Md Din Muhamad Faiz et al.

Since the discovery of magnetocaloric effect (MCE), numbers of method in producing magnetocaloric materials has been studied. Among those methods, ball milling has been shown as a very versatile technique with several advantages compared to other preparation methods. In this work, the effect of ball milling preparation technique on the phase structural behaviour and electrical properties of MnCoGe alloys has been analysed. The changes in the structural behaviour have been studied by X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and Raman Spectroscopy. The results suggest that the samples show significant str...

"The Critical Behaviour and Magnetism of MnCoGe0.97Al0.03 Compounds" by Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman, Muhamad Faiz Md Din et al. - Vimarsana News

"The Critical Behaviour and Magnetism of MnCoGe0.97Al0.03 Compounds" by Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman, Muhamad Faiz Md Din et al.

The critical behaviour associated with the field-induced martensitic transformation heav-ily relies on the vacancy and transition of the magnetic phase in MnCoGe based-compounds. Due to this revelation, an intensive investigation was brought forth to study the substitution of Ge (atomic radius = 1.23 Å) by Al (atomic radius = 1.43 Å) in MnCoGe0.97Al0.03 alloy compound. The room-temperature X-ray diffraction indicated that the reflections were identified with the ortho-rhombic structure (TiNiSi-type, space group Pnma) and minor hexagonal structure (Ni2In-type, space group P63/mmc). The substi...
