The accused has been identified as Dharia Majhi, serving as an assistant engineer in Kuliana block.
Following an allegation against Majhi for accumulating disproportionate assets, five teams of Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids.
The raids are underway at Majhi’s office at Kuliana, his residence at Kalikapur in Baripada, a market complex at Kostha, his parental house at Bada Shukruliakhol in Shuliapadar area and his in-laws’ house at Dhanashula village in Badasahi area, it was learnt.
Since raids are going on, the value of his total movable and immovable assets is yet to be calculated. ....

Amid the ongoing farmer agitation, the RJD has claimed that BJP leaders have declared farmers as terrorists and now they are involving in deceiving the farmers by organising Chaupals or farmer meetings in Bihar.
The RJD said the farmers of Bihar will not deceived by the BJP.
The party reacted a day after Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad and BJP leader Sanjay Jaiswal participated in a farmers Chaupal in Bakhtiyarpur in Patna district. ....

Without offering an effective alternative plan, the Nitish Kumar-led government in Bihar repealed the state s Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in 2006. The stated aim to allow crops to be freely traded in the open market proved disastrous as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) to the farmers remained elusive after a brief respite provided by the Primary Agriculture Credit Society (PACS) and no alternative mechanism that could have mitigated the void created by a sudden and surprising decision. ....
