KUCHING - Trend aktiviti penyalahgunaan dadah di daerah Kuching dan Padawan telah bertukar kepada penganjuran parti-parti liar sejak Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan ketiga (PKP 3.0) dilaksanakan.
Pesuruhjaya Polis Sarawak, Datuk Aidi Ismail berkata, ekoran larangan ke atas pusat-pusat hiburan daripada beroperasi sepanjang tempoh PKP itu, parti-parti liar ini diadakan secara tertutup di kediaman tertentu dalam cubaan penganjurnya mengelak aktiviti mereka dikesan oleh pihak berkuasa.
“Bagaimanapun, sepanjang operasi khas Op Parti Liar, Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Negeri Sarawak berjaya menghidu kegiatan itu dan menahan seramai 41 orang melibatkan 27 lelaki dan 14 perempuan yang berumur antara 18 dan 42 tahun,” katanya pada sidang akhbar pada Isnin. ....

Covid-19: Another 295 trainees at Kuching Pulapol test positive

KUCHING: Another 295 trainees at the police training centre (Pulapol) in Jalan Puncak Borneo here have tested positive for Covid-19, says Sarawak police commissioner Comm Datuk Aidi Ismail.
He said to date, 415 trainees at the centre have been infected, along with 20 members of the teaching staff and their families.
As such, Comm Aidi said it was necessary for the enhanced movement control order to be enforced at the centre from Friday (April 16) until April 29.
I hope that with the enhanced MCO, we can curb further spread and bring the numbers down.
We want to end the outbreak here as soon as possible, said Comm Aidi after accompanying Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah on a visit to the enhanced MCO operations room at the centre on Friday (April 16). ....

Covid-19: Sarawak cops to step up enforcement of SOP compliance

KUCHING: Police will step up enforcement of Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) in Sarawak to improve compliance, starting with Kuching.
Sarawak police commissioner Comm Datuk Aidi Ismail said 950 personnel from the military, Rela, Civil Defence Force, state security unit and local authorities would join 241 police personnel to conduct patrols and monitor SOP compliance in public places.
He said Kuching would be divided into 15 zones for the enforcement, with each zone under the head of the respective police station.
We will look at the situation in each zone and deploy enforcement teams to places frequented by the public, such as markets, eateries and shops. ....

KUCHING: Two men nabbed for allegedly being involved in the Valentine’s Day riot at Plaza Chong Lin, Green Road, have tested positive for Covid-19.
Sarawak police commissioner Aidi Ismail said the two suspects, aged 20 and 34, have been handed over to the health ministry.
He said nine suspects, aged between 20 and 35, were nabbed on Monday and had undergone the Covid-19 swab test the same day. ....
