Indian Railways may need to rely more on imported wheels, particularly from Chinese companies, due to a lack of supply from domestic sources such as Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). The supply of wheels from SAIL was affected by a capital maintenance schedule, while RINL's supply of Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) wheels is yet to stabilize.
