A brother-in-law of a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate, Sambhu Das, was found murdered with stab wounds near a pond in Cooch Behar district. The BJP has alleged Trinamool Congress supporters were responsible, but this has been denied by the states minister for Trinamools Dinhata MLA Udayan Guha.
