Norway's government on Wednesday said it would appeal a court's decision to invalidate three permits that the energy ministry had granted for the development of new offshore oil and gas fields.
The Norwegian authorities are offering Aker BP ownership interest in 27 exploration licenses on the Norwegian Continental Shelf in the APA 2023 licensing round. For 17 of the licenses, Aker BP is also granted operatorship.
Norway on Tuesday awarded stakes in 62 offshore oil and gas exploration licences to 24 energy companies, including state-controlled Equinor , boosting the amount of acreage offered as the country seeks to pump for decades to come.
