The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has continued implementing a project in Lebanon’s governorate of Akkar that provides bread on a daily basis to refugees and needy residents, SPA said on Saturday. During the past week, KSrelief’s Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project distributed 25,000 bags of bread daily to needy families, including Syrians, Palestinians, and host community residents, in northern Lebanon.

The Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture launched a national campaign to distribute soft wheat to Lebanese farmers, with the aim to “strengthen Lebanon’s food security,” caretaker Minister of Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan told Asharq Al-Awsat. Lebanon relies mainly on imports to secure the necessary amounts of soft wheat needed for bread production. But the country is facing difficulties importing the material, following the country’s financial collapse and the Ukraine crisis, which affected global wheat supplies.

Without a president for 14 months, the country of the cedars is undergoing a socio-political process of implosion. According to one (alarming) study, Syrian refugees who entered in 2012 could, within 15 years, account for half the population. And at the southern gate, a front has opened up between Hezbollah, a state within a state, and Israel.

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continued implementing Al-Amal Charitable Bakery project in the fourth stage in Akkar Governorate and Al-Minieh District in Lebanon. During the past week, the project distributed 150,000 bags to needy families, including Syrians, Palestinians, and members of the host community residing in northern Lebanon, thereby benefiting 125,000 individuals.
