Anybody? i remember back in 1972 the democrats had a veteran in north carolina named lee jordan. liberals dumped him for another man. guess who won the election? jesse helms who remained the senator for the next three decades. brilliant move, wasn t it? primary challenges that lead to defeat in november are bad enough. but third parties are the worst. i have a good deal of respect for ralph nader. but nader ran for president in the year 2003 as a third party president. he won 97,488 votes in the state of florida. al gore wasn t perfect but he sure could have used those 97,488 votes when they did that recount there for five weeks. come to think of it, there wouldn t have been a recount. there wouldn t have been a supreme court decision. wouldn t have been a bush/cheney presidency for the first eight years of this presidency, or that war in iraq. ....
