Saudi Arabia, Egypt sign $1.8bn power grid interconnection deal

Saudi Arabia and Egypt have signed contracts with three major consortiums to connect the two nations' power grids in a project worth $1.8 billion, which on completion, will have a capacity of 3,000 megawatts (MW) with a 500 kV HVDC technology.
