The Saudi Electricity Company and Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company have signed awarded contracts of the electric connection projects between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt, reported Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Saudi Arabia and Egypt have signed contracts with three major consortiums to connect the two nations' power grids in a project worth $1.8 billion, which on completion, will have a capacity of 3,000 megawatts (MW) with a 500 kV HVDC technology.
