There are calls for Inishowen to be prioritised in a new national coastal management strategy. Serious concerns have been raised over projections for the peninsula as it relates to coastal erosion which shows areas such as Lagg and part of Ballyliffin Golf Club could be severely impacted into the future. The Government has announced the new strategy to explore the issue further. Cathaoirleach of the Inishowen MD Cllr Albert Doherty believes this is an ideal opportunity for the case of Inishowen to be heard:

The vaccination of nursing home residents across the country is to begin on January 11th. It's been revealed that vaccination teams will arrive first at Aras Uí Dhomhaill Nursing Home and Ramelton Community Nursing Unit to administer the vaccine on January 13th. Residents of 25 care facilities in the county will receive the vaccine between January 13th and 29th. Serious concern however, has been raised over the omission in the vaccination programme of St Columbcille's Village, Clonmany. There are further calls on both the HSE and Government to sanction the necessary funding to restore respite services for people with intellectual disabilities in Inishowen. It emerged in recent weeks that there's only one designated respite bed available in Riverwalk Respite House, Carndonagh, despite there being 46 service users on the peninsula.. A motion was passed at the recent sitting of Donegal County Council calling on the local authority to raise the issue with the Health Minister, the Minister of State for Disability and the HSE.
