DETROIT — The first prison sentence has been handed down in a corruption case that has ensnarled the Madison District Public Schools for years. John David, 65, a former contractor for the school district who owned Emergency Restoration in Troy, was sentenced Aug. 14 by U.S.
Emergency Restoration President/CEO John David's scheme and total bribes place him among the largest corruption cases in Detroit in recent years.
After five years of purgatory, Rafaela Vasquez, the operator of a self-driving Uber that killed a pedestrian in 2018, pleaded guilty to endangerment.
Albert Morrison, former school board president of the Madison District Public Schools board, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to bribery and tax evasion.
