Budget 2022 more than doubles funding to help protect places of worship and all vulnerable Albertans from hate crimes and vandalism.
As part of the 2022 budget, the province has increased funding earmarked to help faith institutions and other community groups protect against hate-motivated crimes, from $2 million to $5 million per year.
Places of worship, not-for-profit agencies, registered charities and other organizations that are at risk of hate-motivated crimes will soon be able to access more government money to help protect themselves.
