Alberto Perez guilty by jury for stabbing Leland man in Currie
The judge sentenced Perez to two-to-four years in prison on Thursday afternoon. Jury selection began and wrapped up on April 26, a few days before the guilty verdict. Perez stabbed Artex Deshawn Robinson, of Leland, at Johnson’s Corner Grill at 9031 U.S. 421 in Currie in July 2017, according to a news release from the district attorney's office. He stabbed Robinson five times in the torso area "and only stopped when a friend got in the middle of the fight and broke it up."
