Temple University's police union is calling for the resignation of Jennifer Griffin, the school's vice president of public safety, after three female officers were fired within 48 hours. While it remains unclear why the officers were terminated, union leaders allege that it was due to violations of non-police, university-specific policies while the officers were off-duty. The union has previously criticized Griffin for calling the university's police officers "university safety officers."
The department will use grant funding to retain officers and improve technology.
