Greece reopens restaurants and cafés in early May

After the Greek hospitality sector was closed for almost 6 months, the government plans to reopen cafés and restaurants at the beginning of May to gradually return to normality.
The decision is connected with the gradual opening of tourism on 15 May and the lifting of restrictions for flying to Greece as the country seeks to avoid last year’s losses. There is no sense for Greek economy to receive tourists without the hospitality industry open.
Travel measures will not be lifted for the Greek Orthodox Easter, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Wednesday, in order to avoid a possible spread of the virus from cities to rural areas ahead of the summer season. ....
