Court remands 11 over death of Ibarapa fuel station owner On Kindly Share This Story: An Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Ibadan, on Tuesday, remanded 11 persons over the alleged kidnap and death of an Ibarapa fuel station owner and other two young girls. The defendants include Abubakar Idris, 23; Rabiu Usman, 22; Umar Usman, 22; Usman Saliu, 20; Sahibu Idi, 24; Tiamiyu Isah, 55; Rasak Ramon, 45 and Kate Mohammed, 25. Others are: Umar Ahmadu,30; Kabiru Adamu, 25 and Muhammadu Abdullahi, 25. The defendants were in arraigned on a seven-count charge, bordering on conspiracy, kidnapping, causing death and unlawful dispossession of cell phone. The Magistrate, Mrs O. A. Akande, who did not take their plea, remanded all the defendants in Abolongo correctional facility, pending the outcome of the case file from Oyo State Directorate of Public Prosecution (DPP).

Police arrest 41 over kidnapping, murder, robbery

By Fri Feb 12 2021 The Oyo State Police Command has paraded 26 suspected kidnappers who have been terrorising Ibadan and Ibarapa areas of the state. Some of those paraded are alleged to have murdered their victims after collecting ransom from their families. Also paraded were 13 suspected armed robbers; a 72-year-old pastor of Cherubim and Seraphim Church, Jimoh Odunayo, who allegedly defiled a 13-year-old girl; and a 56-year-old lawyer, Remi-Oladiti, who also defiled a 14-year-old girl. The state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Ngozi Onadeko, who paraded the suspects on Wednesday, said some of them participated in the kidnapping and murders of Oluwole Agboola in Akinyele Local Government Area; and a local government Chairman, Hon Adeleke Jacob Olayiwola.

Share Operatives of the Oyo State Police Command have arrested the suspected killers of an Ibadan farmer, Mr Wole Agboola; a petrol station owner in Igbo-Ora at Ibarapa Zone, Alhaja Sherifat Adisa, as well as the abductors of the chairman of Igangan Local Council Development Area (LCDA), also in Ibarapa, Mr Adeleke Jacob Olayiwola, among others. Speaking during the parade of the suspects at the police headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, on Wednesday, the state Commissioner of Police, Ngozi Onadeko, recalled that Honourable Olayiwola was kidnapped on Iganna-Ado Awaye Road, with a demand of N5.5 million as ransom. The police boss said operatives of the command swung into action immediately the council boss was set free after the kidnappers had collected the ransom.
